Boating and Excursions

Lake Michigan and Round Lake are calling. Bring your own boat, rent one or book a tour to Beaver Island.

Beaches

Enjoy the light breezes coming off Round Lake or Lake Michigan. Soak up some sun while walking down the pier towards the lighthouse, hunt for Petoskey stones, take a dip in the pristine blue waters or enjoy the beautiful Pure Michigan sunsets.

  • Depot Beach Park - 4 minutes from The Earl - located on Round Lake
  • Mt. McSauba Recreation Area - 5 minutes from The Earl  - a little hike through the sand and down a sanddune to this hidden gem of a beach on Lake Michigan
  • Ferry Beach Park - 6 minutes from The Earl - sandy beach located on Lake Charlevoix

  • Little Traverse Wheelway -4 minutes from The Earl - a 26-mile bike trail from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs offering picturesque views.
  • Mt. McSauba Recreation Area - 5 minutes from The Earl - year-round fun on Lake Michigan. Remote beaches with sand dunes, hiking trails and disc golf.
  • North Point Nature Preserve - 5 minutes from The Earl - close to downtown, offering nature trails and sand dunes on Lake Michigan.
  • Miller's Marsh Nature Preserve - 2 hour boat ride to the Beaver Island
  • Revolution Bike - 3 minutes from The Earl -  bike rentals.
  • Charlevoix Fountain of Youth - 2 blocks from The Earl - interactive water fountain downtown.
  • Fisherman's Island State Park & Beach - 9 minutes from The Earl -  hike the beach, forest, and dunes.
